During unprecedented times like these, it’s totally fine to want to distract yourself from the news. That’s why we created a list of super cool and talented artists to follow on Instagram. We can’t get enough of John Yuyi’s artful interpretations of the human body. The Tapei-native artist who majored in fashion design and was once Jason Wu’s intern, makes use of the human form and social media as mediums for her work. She has collaborated on commercial campaigns for high-end designers like Gucci and Maison Margiela and her dream is to collaborate with someone nobody would like to work with, like “Kim Jong-Un” she once said in an interview.

2- Chloe Horseman @chloehorseman

This fashion photographer has an eye like no other. Think Diane Arbus’s voyeurism with a touch of Helmut Newton’s glamour. The young photographer has already shot for some of the hottest brands of the moment like Orseund Iris and Brother Vellies. Her work is the meeting point between fashion and art — her mesmerizing visuals capture the quicksilver emotions experienced by her human subject all the while highlighting the garments that they are wearing.

This London-based artist also shot and directed Burberry’s last x-mas campaign which featured Naomi Campbell. One thing we both have in common, she loves pink. But the color doesn’t have to be synonymous with happy-ever-after imagery. From barbie killed Ken inside a Cha Cha Matcha to a series of staged self-portraits in a house built by the founder of Avon cosmetics, Juno Calypso really knows how to stage and capture the *creepy*  moment.

4- Patrick Church @patrickchurchny

You might have seen his designs at Opening Ceremony or wrapped around the bodies of the Clermont Twins. But Patrick Church, who, on top of being an amazing designer, also happens to be an incredibly talented painter. His feed features mostly his clothing designs and hand-painted leather jackets, but from time to time you’ll get a glimpse of his canvases or his gorgeous Bushwick Loft whose walls are covered with his iconic painted faces.

Two years ago, the Nigeria-born, Alabama-raised visual artist had her first solo show in New York City at the Whitney Museum of American Art. Her large-scale, colorful, drawings made with soft pastels often depict black subjects in lavish attire and sumptuous decors in which she re-imagines the African-American narrative.

Lily-Rose Depp, Pamela Anderson, Hunter Schafer, and Jane Fonda are just a few of the icons the Luke Gilford has shot. The LA & NYC-based photographer explores society’s fixation with the plasticized and sterile, and his creations navigate the nuanced concepts of depth that stem from his knowledge of California culture. All that creates a body of work that will make you think while showering you in its glowy aesthetic.
