No more excuses for not sticking to your fitness and health goals as New York City & LA’s hottest workout spots have moved their studios online
As summer is nearing closer, and gyms around the world have closed down, it’s becoming increasingly hard to keep working out for that summer 2020 body you’ve been anticipating long before Covid-19 was even in the books. Staying motivated while confined to your home, which doesn’t help with the “boredom” munchies, is not an easy task. That being said, the pandemic has pushed people to think creatively of the ways we can stay active and healthy while practicing social distancing. Some of the world’s most sought-after gyms, yoga and pilates studios now offer online live classes and tutorials so that you can stay active from the comfort of your own home. Read below for the best at-home, virtual workouts so high-tech, they will trick you into thinking that you’re doing pilates in a brightly lit, gorgeous Tribeca studio!
SKY TING YOGA TV
Sky Ting Yoga was founded by two retired models, Chloe Karnaghan and Krissy Jones, whose main goal was to create a community centered around wellness. The classes are filmed in their gorgeous, sun-drenched studios with breathtaking views of the city, which have become the go-to yoga studio for models and cool New Yorkers alike. From five-minute sun salutations to hour-long detox classes, for 20$/month, you can train like a New York socialite no matter where you find yourself.
NEW YORK PILATES
Founded by our ultimate girl crush, Heather Andersen , New York Pilates was our favorite pilates studio in NYC pre-pandemic. Currently in the process of filming their virtual classes, their online studio will be live in the next weeks. And we’re very excited to see what’s coming because we know how tech-savvy Andersen and her husband & business partner can be. In the meantime, they offer free instagram LIVE videos, so follow their Instagram and keep an eye out for their LIVE mini-workouts.
ALO MOVES
The LA-native athletic-wear brand went full-on silicon-valley on us and launched an entire app called Alo Moves . While the app has been a project in the books long before the Covid-19 days, we can’t think of a better time to download the Alo Moves app . For 20$/ month you have unlimited access to strength, Barre, Pilates, HIIT, and many more classes.
Box + Flow
Box + Flow is known for combining high-intensity boxing with soothing yoga flows, a great way to combine cardio, strength and recovery training in the same workout. As the studio had to close down its doors, it has instead released daily Instagram Live workouts, where viewers can follow along with instructors as they uppercut, hook, and flow
